The story behind WERCS Communications Ours is a simple story of asking the customer what they want and then providing it. When AT&T was required to divest its local telephone companies in 1984, the result was confusing for many businesses and individuals. The competition and innovation that resulted in new technologies like computers, voice-mail and e-mail somehow made being in business simpler and more complex all at once. It is easy to become confused by questions like what telephone company is best, what telephone service features make sense, is digital service better or even necessary, and what Internet service provider is best? Figure out whom to call when the system goes down ; add how much everything costs and you're in business! The bottom line is that business people told us that they did not like spending so much time and effort making decisions about their telephone service. A word they used often in describing the perfect solution was ONE - one call, one connection, one bill. We began by assembling a team of highly experienced people. This is everything. We built a Network Operations Center utilizing the most reliable and modern network connections and IP switching equipment. We became an IP Local Exchange Carrier ( LEC ) with direct interfaces to the local telephone company, Internet Tier1 service providers and long distance carriers. We became a single connection to the next wave in business communication technology. In essence, we became what business people described as the perfect solution to their communication needs: ONE - one call, one connection, one bill, one simple but comprehensive solution. What could possibly make things better? How about lower costs, superior products and knowledgeable support in the same phone call. Ok. We agree.
