Wake Emergency Physicians, PA, also known as WEPPA, is an independent, democratic group of emergency medicine specialists comprised of more than 60 physicians. The group provides emergency medical services through WakeMed Health and hospitals emergency departments at the Raleigh Campus, Cary Hospital, North Healthplex and Apex Healthplex in North Carolina. It also houses the state s autonomous children s emergency department in the Raleigh Campus. In addition to patient care, Wake Emergency Physicians, PA is involved in the training of resident physicians. The group also offers services for the University of North Carolina s department of emergency medicine for providing didactic and clinical teaching for the Emergency Medicine Residency program. Additionally, it funds a program for the educational training of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship, which is sponsored by the Department of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. The group maintains one of its offices in Cary, N.C.
