Fairview Elementary School offers educational instruction to students from grades kindergarten through six. The school enrolls more than 500 students and is governed under the Carthage R-IX school district. It offers a variety of special education classes for talented and gifted students. The school teaches a variety of subjects, including mathematics, social studies, science and technology, computer science, health education, English, arts and crafts, music and physical education. It provides nutritious lunch menu that features green beans, juices, bread sticks, quesadilla, lasagna, margarine, salads, burritos, pudding, wheat rolls, mashed potatoes, pineapple chunks and a variety of milk.
