Owners Chris and Bruce Westwood invite you to experience for yourself the peaceful ambiance of Carthage's biggest indoor/outdoor events complex: the Civil War Ranch. The 73-acre property is located at 11838 Civil War Road less than two miles north of Exit 55 off U.S. 49. The Civil War Ranch features: A pre-1900s barn that has been updated as a Wedding Barn and Events Center, which features modern climate-controlled restrooms,bride and groom dressing rooms, food preparation room. A Large Pole Barn for outdoor picnicking and BBQ dining Expansive Barn Courtyard that can be used for games, dancing or even booth displays or trade shows. A spring-fed 2.5 acre pond in a picturesque setting adjoining the Wedding Barn and Events Facility. Catch-and-release fishing from the new dock or from the shore of the pond. Plenty of free parking in the Outdoor Arena. Full-scale Indoor Arena with bleacher seating and onsite concession kitchen and restrooms. The Civil War Arena, which is 100' x 200' is once-again available for horse-related activities, including barrel racing, calf-roping, and pole-bending racing. The arena also has bucking chutes, roping chutes, barrels, and pole-bending poles. The Arena also has brand new timing equipment for all types of racing and activities. Acres and acres of grassland available for large-scale trade shows or other large events or gatherings. Assistance in arranging onsite catering and activities such as carriage or wagon rides, pony rides, petting zoo, hot air balloon rides (weather permitting), photographers, entertainment such as fiddlers, Bluegrass bands, dancers, singers.
