Mental Health and Developmental Services, also known as MHDS, is one of the largest human service agencies in Nevada. It maintains a staff of more than 1,900 employees. The agency operates over five locations in Reno and Carson City in Nevada. Mental Health and Developmental Services offers substance abuse prevention and treatment solutions. The agency also administers consumer assistance and disaster preparedness and response programs. It provides job training and family and residential support services. Mental Health and Developmental Services maintains the Lake's Crossing Center and the Desert Regional Center. The agency is a division of the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services.
