Securus takes advantage of their customers. The fee to make a payment is $6.95; the fee to accept a call is $3.00 plus the cost of minutes for the call. Today, Securus shut down the phones at the facility from which I was receiving a call. There was no warning for this. The phones were down all afternoon during which time, the recording was changed and the method of accepting the charges changes. Obviously, Securus performed an upgrade during the downtime. In the meantime, they collected fees for thos disconnected calls. In addition, they collected fees again when the inmates had to make a second call since the first was disconnected BY SECURUS. This is fraud as far as I see it. When I inquired as to being credited, I was told that company policy is not to credit for any terminated calls to cell phones. So they disconnected the call and refused to make me whole for their actions. Securus is taking advantage of customers and the facilities they service.
