I've gone in for two root canals; first was painless, second hurt more because he didn't give me enough anesthetic. He was very friendly though, told me what was going to happen and if something was going to hurt, and answered the few questions I had.

I went in for a root canal 2 filings & an extraction. After the injection he went to work on someone else & by the time he came to do the root canal, the sedation had worn off. After the root canal I told him in tears that I had pain & felt the procedure. He sedated the area & took about another hour to come back & do the filing. I felt that even more (I was there total 4.5 hours). His asst was surprised that I jumped & asked me if I had feeling & told her yes & she said that she was just putting tissue to stop the bleeding & I should have not felt that. When he was done with the filing he pulled me into his office & said I had had enough for the day & that we would reschedule the other extraction & filing. He told me to consider a root canal instead of the extraction on the molar b/c in his own words"It's a big molar & it's more work for me". Cost for root canal would be $1070.00 versus $0.00 for the extraction. I'm having the refer me to a specialist for the rest of the work. PAINFUL
