Dr. Sina Moainie earned his undergraduate degree from Frostburg State University, Frostburg, Maryland. He received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his internship at Georgetown University Medical Center. Dr. Moainie completed his cardiothoracic surgery residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He also completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and received the Young Investigator Award from the Heart Failure Society of America for his research on the surgical treatment of heart failure. Prior to joining Corvasc, Dr. Moainie served as assistant professor of surgery at the University of Maryland division of cardiac surgery.Dr. Moainie specializes in adult cardiac surgery including valvular heart disease and coronary revascularization. He has specific interests in aortic surgery, including minimally invasive, endovascular and conventional aortic surgery as well as transcatheter valve implantation. Dr. Moainie also specializes in the surgical treatment of heart failure including ventricular assist device placement and heart transplantation.Dr. Moainie is a member of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.During his free time, Dr. Moainie cherishes spending time with his wife and their young son and daughter.
