- Primary CareIf your medical clearance is to be done by your family physician instead of our hospitalists, your surgeon’s staff and the staff of the Pre-Anesthesia Surgery Screening (PASS) department at OrthoIndy Hospital can provide information for your physician to make sure that all necessary testing is done. This information will be gathered and reviewed by the anesthesiologist for special concerns if needed.
- Emergency CareOrthoIndy Urgent Care is intended for patients with very recent injuries, sprains or broken bones (fractures). The urgent care clinics provide immediate access to orthopedic care so you can avoid the emergency room wait and cost. Because patients are seen without appointments, we are unable to predict your wait time.

- Internal MedicineO. You have the right to know the relationship(s) of the hospital to other person or organizations participating in the provision of care to you. We are affiliated with OrthoIndy. The hospital meets the federal definition of a “physician owned hospital” and doctors who own or are employed by OrthoIndy (orthopedic physicians, physiatrists and anesthesiologists) also own OrthoIndy Hospital. A complete list of the physicians who own the hospital is available on request. We have contracts with other, independent physicians to provide their services to you, such as the internal medicine doctors who staff our Pre-op Clinic, radiologists, (X-ray interpretations) and pathologists (lab interpretations). The independent doctors are not directly under our control, and will send you a separate bill for their services. Let us know if you have concerns about them, and we will investigate and/or assist you in getting any questions answered. We also have a contract with a company to provide equipment such as crutches and walkers that you may need at home after your surgery. This is offered as a convenience to you, but you are free to use a different company for your at-home needs, and you may be required to use certain companies for coverage by your health plan.
- Carpal Tunnel SyndromeBoth an EMG and NCS can be used to help diagnose symptoms that involve pain, muscle weakness, numbness or paralysis. The testing can also determine what nerves and muscles are affected. Muscles move when an electrical impulse from the nerve causes them to relax or contract. When injuries occur or when a patient suffers from a debilitating disease, impulse is disrupted or slowed. An EMG or NCS can measure this change in activity and the findings can be used to diagnose certain conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, pinched nerves due to injury or a ruptured disc. Additionally, the EMG and the NCS can assist in the diagnosis of other neuromuscular diseases and disorders.

- UltrasoundWatch this video to learn what to expect when getting a tissue and/or cell injection. OrthoIndy uses ultrasound guidance for injections.
- MRIMagnetic Resonance Imaging, better known as an MRI, gives no exposure to radiation. MRIs are used to help more clearly review soft tissue and ligaments. OrthoIndy’s MRI features a “short bore” magnet that allows patients who are sensitive to smaller spaces to see out of the top of the tube making the patient feel less claustrophobic. The MRI machine can scan patients up to 440 lbs. The equipment enables MRIs to be performed with and without contrast. The scanner also has coils that are designed especially for orthopedic scans. Non-orthopedic scans available include...

- Computed TomographyComputerized Axial Tomography (CT Scan or CAT Scan) is commonly used in adjunct with X-ray. CT scans use multiple X-ray beams that are projected at many angles in conjunction with computer resources to create three dimensional cross-sectional images. - Ankle SurgeryOrthoIndy Physical Therapy provides physical and occupational therapy to those patients staying in our hospital. We work with patients who have had total joint replacement, foot/ankle surgery, spine surgery and repair of traumatic injuries. The goal of our inpatient therapy team is to allow each patient to leave the hospital functioning at their highest level possible, as well as initiate the rehab process per each physician's protocols. With their assistance, the majority of our patients are able to return home with a level of independence they did not know was achievable.
- Joint ReplacementOrthoIndy doctors have been at the forefront of treatment with orthobiologics for orthopedic injuries and conditions such as arthritic joints, broken bones, injured muscles, tendons or ligaments. Orthobiologics are natural tissue-derived products that orthopedic surgeons use that may help decrease pain and restore function and potentially avoid or delay major surgery, like joint replacement surgery. The orthobiologic substances consist of cells, proteins, glycoproteins and complex carbohydrates that are naturally found in the body.
