If you only eat at one place in Carmel, CA- this should be it. Katy's Place is tucked in the middle of the block in an unassuming building with a small area for outdoor dining in front. Follow the bursting blooms of geraniums in to the dining area and prepare yourself to be dazzled by a menu that is not for the dieter. Dozens of different types of eggs benedict are listed, along with crepes, blintzes, and omlettes on the breakfast menu. Honestly we've never gotten past the breakfast items, but many lunch items are offered, and all are very large portions and are served quickly and with a smile by their very attentive waitstaff. Their restrooms are spotless and tables and menus are never sticky. Be aware the menu tends on the expensive side ($35 for two for eggs benedict and coffee) and they DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS!! (They will direct you to a nearby ATM if you're caught out without cash) Katy's Place gained national attention recently when the King of Jordan stopped in :)
