General Info
Waterworks Aquatics, voted the best swim school in Orange County for 2009 and 2010 by the readers of Parenting OC magazine, offers the finest swimming lessons in San Diego, Orange and Los Angeles Counties. We teach children ages 3 months through adult how to swim. With a supportive atmosphere and child-centered approach, our goal as a swim center is to encourage children to have fun in the water while improving their water skills. Our proven teaching methods and caring instructors will allow children to learn and grow within our program. By utilizing a specialized muscle memory technique, we are able to teach stroke technique at a very quick rate. The service we provide you and your child extends beyond swim lessons. Lasting relationships are built through a "triangle of communication" between every parent, child, and instructor. We carefully match our students to an instructor who can best understand their capabilities and help them reach their full potential. Each lesson is structured yet flexible to meet the needs of each individual, which allows our students to steadily progress and thrive in a safe, comfortable environment.

Our 4-year old son started his swim lessons at Waterworks of Carlsbad on July 3. At that time he was afraid to put his face in the water. We had taken him for swim lessons before, at the YMCA, but he had reached a plateau there; they took him as far they could. After only 3 weeks with Kelly at Waterworks (going 3 times a week) he was diving into the pool from the side and swimming to the bottom to pick up rings! We are truly amazed at his progress and how much he looks forward to his lessons. One of the advantages of this place over others is that the pool water is warm enough that they don't mind spending a lot of time in the water. They also have a 2.5 foot shallow area where our kids can stand up, play, practice, and just have fun before and after their lessons. They LOVE this, and so do we. I really think this has made a difference in their enjoyment and progress in their actual lessons. Worth every penny!
Excellent instructors! Very clean! Awesome warm indoor pool!

We're very happy with Waterworks and the program they have. We looked at the YMCA as well as crash courses for teaching your children to swim. We ruled out the crash course idea because it just seemed like it would be good for a month or two while they perhaps remembered their skills to get to the edge of the pool - but then would forget. Our goal was for our kids to be able to not only swim, but to swim well and be good swimmers when swimming at camp summer adventures or other random places we went to. We chose WW over the YMCA because the pool(s) are heated and the facilities are very modern and clean. The YMCA was okay, but the pool was only outside and freezing in the winter. The pools are built specifically for training and kids. They have a "shallow" end that is for the kids to warmup / play in while getting ready or after their class. The pools are super warm - 90+ degrees and one is salt water which is very nice. I foresee us using their facilities for years to come.
