I left my ex girlfriends bracelet at Zak's, got claim ticket with my phone number on it and forgot all about it. Well, 2 1/2yrs later I stumble on it. Yeah, I've been busy raising my daughter and forgot all about it. Well I never signed the receipt or agreed to allow them to keep my property. I call on 8/27 and they melted my bracelet, granted, it only weighed a few grams but they NEVER called my cell phone to remind me they had it. I spoke to the owner Tom on 8/29 and he agreed to pay me $50 for my loss then when I made a comment that it was probably worth more cause of the fancy labor he accused me of being a swindler and next thing he knows I'll be saying it weighed 10 grams. I just wanted what was mine, either the bracelett or the money. I've spoken to other Zak's customers and he has a reputation of being nasty. I have not seen any money from his firm and now he is on vacation. If you have a story like this, let me know. I'm also filing a complaint on Angies LIst and with the BBB.
