I found my vehicle online and contacted the dealer to negotiate the price. I spoke with both the owner and Matt the sales rep and they were both friendly and clear. Matt was very attentive during negotiations and was willing to work with me to secure the sale. I feel I got a fair price and that the vehicle was accurately represented online. As this was a long distance deal I had to feel confident that it was worth the gamble of flying down to finalize the deal. Matt was very accommodating and picked me up at the airport and brought me to the dealership. It was at this point that the pressure was on to decide and pay. I took it for a test drive and found an issue which they addressed (albeit imperfectly and temporarily....) Matt is fantastic at smoothing things over, down playing your concerns, rushing through equipment checks and minimizing the importance of reading the small print. As it was a Saturday there wasn't many available mechanics open to bring it to to have it checked out and I found out later I would have benefited by doing so. Feeling rushed by circumstances and the fact that several other customers were waiting to work with Matt (there was noone else there to work with customers) I did succumb to finalizing the sale without thoroughly inspecting some aspects of the vehicle. Come to find out, 19 miles down the road, the vehicle had a very old, original, battery which would die if left sitting for more than an hour or two. When I woke up the following morning to begin my 13 hour drive home the battery was dead. I reached out to Matt, he answered but reminded me I bought it "As is" and told me that batteries die when they sit on a hot lot sometimes.....
Well, seeing how this vehicle was sitting on their hot lot for weeks (In AUGUST!) you cannot tell me they did not understand that it needed to be replaced because it required being jumped EVERY TIME you started it. Odd that they would spend two hours cleaning under the hood to make it LOOK shiny and new without making sure the customer wouldn't be stranded on the highway on the way home. I contacted them several times about this battery including making a formal request that they pay for it but my request fell on deaf ears...Maybe being a 13 hour drive away they are not counting on me being a repeat customer.... Bummer, it all seemed to begin so well. I definitely WOULD NOT buy anything from these guys sight unseen and would only do so if you have the opportunity to have it checked by an off sight mechanic.
Long distance purchase that couldn't have gone any smoother and easier. It was painless from start to finish. Flew into Punta Gorda at 630:pm (after their normal business hours). Matt told me, he'd make it easy and simple. He did! Picked me up at the airport, we went to the dealership, processed the paper work and I was on the road, headed home, quickly. They were friendly, knowledgeable and straight up honest about everything. I couldn't be happier and despite the 1200 mile drive, I'll probably buy from Matt again. Great guy!
Bought a fantastic truck from Matt. Had been driven less than 6000 miles a year (verified through Carfax) and everything on it looked brand new except a few flaws in the paint. Drives great. Got it for a great price without haggling. The whole experience was relaxed and low pressure. They also had a very nice selection of other vehicles. I would definitely go back if I ever needed another.
