I am a physician who, for most of the last 20 years, has been diligently keeping my ACLS certification current. Over the years I have certainly seen how the personality of the instructor(s) can completely transform the nature of a class. Recently I completed an ACLS course with 2 of the most "low stress" instructors that I have had the pleasure to work with. Sue Wildgoose and Pearl Alfieri were great. Even for someone who has taken this course multiple times, there is always some anxiety related to testing. Not so with Sue and Pearl. From the outset Sue and Pearl not only stressed what we needed to know in order to be a knowledgeable ACLS provider but, just as importantly, they repeatedly mentioned to the class exactly what students tended to get wrong on the Mega code and written test. Passing the course was only an "after thought". The end result was that the students were able to relax and enjoy the course material as was intended. I will seeing them again at renewal.
