Located in Cantonment, Fla., the Ransom Middle School offers classes from grades six through eight. It was established in 1969 and is spread over an area of more than 40 acres of land. It has an enrollment of more than 1,400 students and offers various courses. The school s media center provides a consortium educators program that offers access to educational resources, found on various federal, state, university, nonprofit and commercial Internet sites. The Ransom Middle School consists of clinic, library, departments, clubs, organizations and teams. Additionally, it operates varied programs, such as before and after school remediation, peer group, computer assisted learning, mentoring, and community drug and alcohol council academic assistance programs. The school employs more than 70 instructional staff members and over 25 noninstructional employees.
