Founded in 1906, SUNY Canton is a coeducational and residential college. The college offers more than 45 associate, bachelor and certificate programs to over 2,500 students. It specializes in a range of courses that includes technology, health and management. It offers classes in a variety of programs, such as accounting, nursing, legal studies, dental hygiene, mortuary science, financial services, technology management and liberal arts. It also provides associate and bachelor's degrees in facilities operation, automotive technology, engineering science, building construction and computer-aided drafting. The college operates various subject-based clubs and organizations that conduct special activities and events. Its sports activities include football, hockey and volleyball. The college provides various types of services that include accommodation, counseling and health care assistance. SUNY Canton is a member of Associated Colleges of the St. Lawrence Valley.
