Charles Jeffries & Son Trucking, Inc is a refrigerated & dry van carrier based in West Central Illinois. Started in 1939 by Charles W. Jeffries who hauled grain & livestock for local farmers, while farming his ground & raising livestock. In 1970, Robert C Jeffries joined his father in running the livestock hauling business, which had grown to 3 straight trucks & 3 tractor trailers. The business had expanded into hauling livestock from local markets to many of the packing plants in the Midwest & Southeast. In 1980, the business expanded into the freight hauling market with its' first refrigerated trailer. Over the years the business shifted to primarily freight hauling & in 1996 sold the livestock trailers. Now we have 14 reefers on the road servicing the Eastern two-thirds of the United States, with reefers daily in Rochelle, Il Chicago, Il Scranton, Pa & Binghamton, NY.
