Dr. GaryGilmondisaprimary care internal medicine physician at the University of Vermont Medical Center, caring for patients suffering from hypertension, high cholesterol,heartdisease,diabetes, obesity,depression andanxiety.Dr.Gilmondexplains, I was lucky enough to grow up in northern Vermont in a family of dairy farmers and mental health providers. I pursued medicine and specifically primary care because I felt in thisfield,I could make a lasting and positive impact on real people's lives. In that vein,the most rewarding aspect of my job has been the relationships I have been able to foster with patients. Though I am still early in my career,I am proud of the care I have been able to provide to my fellow Vermonters. In my mind,Vermont is a state of tightly woven and caring rural communities. Having been encouraged and supported for so long by these communities, I feel proud toprovide health care to the people of this brave little state.Dr.Gilmondfelt acallingto primary care asa health provider because of the unique opportunities and challenges it provides.
