- Primary CareQuite a few clients have told me they have been to see their Primary Care Physician because of the stress they are experiencing, only to be told to quit their job! Needless to say, this is not helpful at all. It's not realistic, it's not understanding, it's way too simplistic. That is something to be VERY carefully considered. I've worked with many people who have had horrific work environments, awful supervisors or managers, back-stabbing co-workers, slackers who make things difficult for people who actually want to get the job done.
- Emergency CareI had a really bad sinus infection and reluctantly saw the need to seek medical care. I went to an urgent care facility, feeling pretty out of it. I was very aware that I had a minor medical problem, in the overall scheme of things. My ears were clogged up and my hearing was quite impaired. What I realized later was that not being able to hear well made me rely more on my sight and feeling for the situation, as I looked for ways to understand what was going on. Any time any of us has an impairment in one of our senses, or a part of the body, we gain great understanding of how significant that part of our body really is and how we tend to take all of these gifts for granted.

- Irritable Bowel SyndromeThe physical elements of anxiety include many reactions and patterns. Frequently, these include: difficulty breathing, chest pressure, rapid heart beating, numbness or tingling in fingers, toes, arms or legs, urges to urinate or defecate or intestinal distress (including or leading to IBS – Irritable Bowel Syndrome), and heavy sweating. There are other variations, these listed are the most common.

- Stress ManagementStress affects your mood, your energy level, your patience with others - and it certainly affects your health. It's so well-documented, there is no doubt that your health suffers a great deal when you are highly stressed. Telling yourself to "just calm down", or worse, having someone else say that to you - doesn't work at all! Effective stress management begins with identifying the sources and learning to cope with them differently.

- Mental HealthAll of us feel anxious from time to time. But when feelings of anxiety occur regularly and begin to interfere with your job, relationships, your health or other aspects of your daily life, it's time to pursue treatment with a mental health professional. People who don’t experience it the way you do generally don’t understand - which makes it more painful, and it can be very isolating.
