Chartered in 1916 as Farmers & Merchants Savings Bank, the Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust offers a range of financial products and services for residential and corporate clients. Its personal banking services include safe deposit boxes, savings bonds, individual retirement accounts and certificates of deposit. Through its Kids Bank program, the Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust teaches the concept of saving money to schoolchildren. The institution s Project: Crayon is a community event held annually to gather supplies and cash for assisting elementary teachers with materials needed to educate hometown students of Mediapolis in Iowa.
