The specially-trained doctors and staff affiliated with the Stroke Center at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center provide compassionate care with state-of-the-art technology. Treatments for stroke may include "clot-buster" medications, like tissue Plasminogen Activator (tPA); medications to reduce brain swelling and to help protect the brain; life support measures; and surgery, including carotid endarterectomy and cerebral angioplasty.
