- Osteoporosis
- ArthritisArthritis is an inflammation of one or more joints where two bones connect. Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis; this type degenerates the cartilage within the joint causing bone on bone contact, leading to pain, decreased mobility, and possibly inflammation. Other forms of arthritis can be autoimmune related as is seen with rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis. These other forms can lead to severe disability, pain, swelling, and loss of function.
- FibromyalgiaHowever, chronic pain is different. Your body continues hurting months or even years after the injury. The sensation of pain results from a series of electrical signals that travel through your nervous system and reaches your brain. The brain processes the signals and sends out the message that you are hurt. With chronic pain, the nerve signals keep firing even after the acute cause of pain is resolved. Some common causes of chronic pain include old injuries or previous surgeries, back problems, headaches, arthritis, nerve damage, infection and fibromyalgia.

The final year is spent doing a chiropractic internship.

- Emergency CareOSS has OUCH!, which stands for Orthopaedic Urgent Care Health Clinic, so a mom, grandpa, or football player can walk in, with no appointment, to take care of a minor musculoskeletal injury like a possible broken bone, strained back or refill a needed medication for an existing orthopaedic injury. If our orthopaedic PA or NP thinks you need more complex care, then you will be referred to our OSS board-certified orthopaedic surgeons.
- ImmunizationsDid you know that Burbank Urgent Care has been open for more than 20 years? The board-certified medical doctors and team routinely treat fever and common illnesses, allergic reactions, animal or insect bites, minor bone and muscle injuries, and wounds. - Carpal Tunnel SyndromeCarpal tunnel syndrome usually includes pain, numbness, tingling or a combination of the three. Patients may sometimes notice a weaker grip, occasional clumsiness, or tendy to drop things. Carpal tunnel surgery is a procedure that helps make room for the nerve. Pressure on the nerve is decreased by cutting the ligament. The doctor can perform this surgery in less than 30 minutes. General recovery varies patient to patient but in general recovery is 3 months. This surgery can also be done in the surgery center or office.

- UltrasoundAn ultrasound uses high frequency sound waves to create a live image of the patient's body. It is safe for kids, adults, and seniors; it is safe if you have an implant or if you are pregnant. There is no radiation either. The ultrasound allows the provider to diagnose the causes of pain, swelling and infection in the body's internal organs.
- MRIAn MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. It is a very large medical imaging machine that produces detailed images of the body. The images are created by using very strong magnets. It gives the best view of your body’s structure. It’s noninvasive and has no radiation.
- RadiologyExperts. Between our orthopaedic surgeons, pain management specialist and our trusted board-certified musculoskeletal radiology partners, we will be able to give you expert interpretations of all images taken at OSS Imaging.
- X-Rays
- Computed TomographyCT stands for Computerized Tomography (CT). It is a medical imaging technique that produces a more detailed image of the body (more than an X-Ray). In fact, a CT Scan gives a much better view of what the small bones look like after a break (fracture). Getting a CT Scan is relatively fast and easy.

- Bunion SurgeryIn general, the common goals of most bunion surgeries include realigning the metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint at the base of the big toe, relieving pain, and correcting the deformity. Because bunions vary in shape and size, there are different surgical procedures performed to correct them. In most cases, bunion surgery includes correcting the alignment of the bone and repairing the soft tissues around the big toe. Dr. Mikhael will talk with you about the type of surgery that will best correct your bunion.
- Joint ReplacementWe will help understand your musculoskeletal condition. Because joint replacement surgery is a complex surgery and the recovery is involved, the OSS doctors will always start with conservative nonsurgical treatments. If the doctor does recommend joint replacement surgery, we will stay involved – we will help you plan all the steps involved in the surgery and recovery.
