He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1976 and admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of New York, also in 1976. Prior to joining the firm, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, handling numerous serious felony matters from investigation through trial and appeal. As a Senior Assistant District Attorney, he served as a homicide prosecutor in numerous murder trials. He is also a retired Officer in the United States Army Judge Advocate General's Corps.
