The founder and President of Lightway Learning Center, Peter Fiore, has developed a very fundamental approach to education: EVERYONE is capable of learning. Throughout his 20-year career as Mathematics Teacher in his hometown of Lackawanna, New York, Peter has helped thousands of students (from advanced levels to those with special needs) realize their full mathematical potential. Peters approach is incisively basic, yet incredibly unique and individualistic: Keep it simple. Keep it fun. Keep trying. With the complexities of presentation in todays Common Core curricula, students, teachers, and parents face a new myriad of difficulties, and people all over the country are experiencing problems with the New Math. Through his company, Peter has provided the means to unlock this confusion. A graduate of Lackawanna High School in 1971 at the age of 16, he has always had the gift to be able to make complex schoolwork seem easy, and, during his entire teaching career, he has refined the techniques which will enable the Common Core ideas of today to seem equally comprehensible to OTHERS. Peter is currently Chair of the Lackawanna City School District Mathematics Department. He resides in Lackawanna with his wife, Deborah, a licensed marriage and family therapist.
