General Info
Photographer specializing in Architecture, Interiors, Food & Hospitality. Serving Buffalo New York and beyond. A former interior designer and marketing coordinator, Kim Smith understands how to make her clients' images stand out against the competition. Catering to designers, architects, builders, developers, restauranteurs and ad agencies. Background in fine art, graphic and interior design. Staging and editing services included. Bio: After studying fine art, architecture, interior & graphic design, Kim Smith worked in several fields of design before becoming an architectural photographer in 2014. Since then, she has been commissioned to document commercial and residential designs by local and out- of-town firms. One notable commission was the Coit house, the oldest residential structure in Buffalo. The goal was to document its restoration that’s been lovingly carried out by new owners, a local design team passionate about historic preservation. An avid lover of Buffalo’s architectural riches, Kim regularly pursues her personal passion of capturing the city’s classic and new structures. With family roots reaching back into the 1800’s in Buffalo, she also enjoys documenting the city’s revival and restoration. This online collection of images recently led to a fine art commission by a private party. The work is now on permanent display at their global headquarters. Having come full circle to her roots in fine arts, she now approaches Buffalo’s familiar sites from unique and unfamiliar perspectives, breathing new life into the places residents see every day. Aside from secular pursuits and hobbies, Kim is a regular volunteer at a local county jail where she shares what could be considered a higher education, designed to bring immediate and permanent benefits to the students. She describes her professional occupation as her means to make a living, but her volunteer work as a means to live.
