We are visitors to the area, son works on the river, and have visited this restaurant on 2 different occasions. We were extremely impressed on the first visit, food was 5 star and service was excellent. However, our second visit last night was not close to what we encountered the first time. The appetizer was bland and came several minutes before the bread sticks, the ham had a bitter taste. The server spilled the water or tea not once, not twice but three times, on the table. The couple that was seated the same time as us received their appetizer at the same time but had received their meal and had eaten and received their check and left before we got our meal, chicken parmigiana, carbonara, and fettucini primavara. The food was okay but not anything close to what we expected and experienced the first time. We would go back but with low expectations. The service probably made the experience worse then the quality of the food, both could of and should have been much higher.
My wife & I were sent to "scout" out Pasqualino's Italian Restaurant, Bryson City, October 2, 2007, as a possible place for the ladies of the church annual luncheon. About 25 to 30 people attend so we take care to preview a prospective restuarant. We arrived for lunch. The wife ordered spaghetti with meat sauce. I ordered spaghetti with meatballs. We were served a fairly typical lunch salad and a basket containg three breadsticks without any dipping sauce. Our spaghetti arrived in a smallish casserole dish. At $7.75 we both expected considerably more than we received. We have had "side" orders of spaghetti about this size. The spaghetti was undercooked. Both of our tomato sauces were watery and there wasn't enough sauce to adequately flavor the noodles. The wife's meatsauce maybe contained a tablespoon of meat. I was served four ping pong ball sized meatballs containing more filler than meat - in fact they were milky colored.Advice? Avoid the pasta - order the sandwiches.
