The Brazos County Office of the Sheriff is a department administered by the government of Brazos County, Texas. The department works to maintain law and order in the county. It operates crime prevention, criminal investigations, special services, records, animal control, recruiting and training divisions. The department employs day and night shift sergeants and supervisors. It also maintains crisis intervention teams that offer services to people with mental illnesses. The department operates the Brazos County Citizens Sheriff Academy Alumni Association, which is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1994 and offers financial assistance services to the sheriff s office.
