Stephen F. Austin Middle School provides academic and athletic programs to students in grades six through eight. The school offers classes in English, math, social studies, science, language arts and physical education. It is governed by the Bryan Independent School District, which operates more than 20 elementary, middle and high schools. The school district has an enrollment of approximately students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Its schools offer several sports activities, including basketball, football, golf, volleyball, wrestling, baseball, cross-country, and track and field. The Bryan Independent School District s libraries stock a collection of textbooks, reference materials, encyclopedias, dictionaries, magazines, newspapers, and fiction and nonfiction books.
