Henderson Elementary is a public, coeducational institution that provides learning opportunities to more than 370 students in kindergarten through grade five. It is named after James Pinckney Henderson, the first governor of Texas. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as reading, mathematics, writing and science. The school also offers content mastery, special education, accelerated reader and behavioral management programs. It additionally runs a Web-based computer program, Study Island. The school conducts a range of extracurricular and social events, such as family game nights, book fairs, field trips and breakfast with Santa. Henderson Elementary is located in Bryan, Texas, and is a part of the Bryan Independent School District.
