Villa Nueva Elementary is a community school that provides academic instruction and enrichment programs to more than 400 students in pre-kindergarten through grade five. The school has a library that offers access to a variety of books and reference materials. It provides instruction in physical education and fine arts. Villa Nueva Elementary also offers an early education program. The school provides guidance counseling, food and health care services. It operates chess and garden clubs. The school offers special education programs for students with learning disabilities. In addition, it manages a parent-teacher association. The school provides Reading First, which is a state-funded program. Villa Nueva Elementary is a part of the Brownsville Independent School District.
