The Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector's Office assess, collects and disburses property taxes and is also responsible for registration and title of motor vehicles. It also issues coin-operated machine stickers to owners of music and amusement equipment eligible to pay county occupations tax. The office is located in Brownsville, Texas, and is a part of Cameron County, Texas that governs a range of other departments, such as transportation and health and human services. Its transportation department is responsible for planning, design, construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, buildings and traffic control devices within the county. The department also oversees mapping, residential and commercial permitting, maintenance and repair of county transportation equipment and manages and operates the international bridge system.
