  Dr. Gifford was born and raised in rural Alabama. She was a first- generation college graduate. She graduated with honors from one of the nation's top medical schools, the University of Alabama School of Medicine at Birmingham, in 1998. She trained an additional 3 years in family medicine at one of the oldest and most accomplished Family Practice residencies in the country, Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, New Jersey. In 2001, she moved to NYC to join a group practice affiliated with Beth Israel/Mt.Sinai in Manhattan's Gramercy Park neighborhood where she worked for 10 years. She moved to Park Slope as a new parent and started Gifford Family Practice, P.C. in 2010. She loves being a part of this wonderful community! Outside of work she spends her time with her family walking through botanical gardens, kayaking, bird watching, singing, dancing, swimming and taking contemplative pictures at the Grand Canyon during sunset (see left).
