This is a fun cangy/gift shop! I bought some salt water taffy that is "old world style" which retains it's flavor longer. There are a bunch of unique flavors. The licorice, peppermint and chocolate mint are some of my favs. The chocolate is good enough to come back for alone. I preferred the sugar free dark and it was very flavorful and smooth. Cute shop with ice cream, gifts, all the makings of a coastal retreat shop. Becky was helpful and steered me in the right direction. Look forward to coming back. Oregon City, OR

Visited the Whale's Tale in March of 2011 while on vacation to N. CA, from AR. Quite a pleasant surprise!! We don't have anything like this store where I live, and I fell in love! The hand-dipped chocolates where to die for, and I especially appreciated the sugar-free specials, as my husband is diabetic. Wish I could order this stuff on-line! Recently we visited a Whales Tail Candy & Gifts on the boardwalk at the Port of Brookings Harbor. What a charming, bubbly place. We found more salt water taffy than we have ever seen. The Chocolates and fudge were awesome. We bought theater style popcorn and I bought the Tiger Butter fudge. My mom found the seafoam chocolates she hadn't seen in years. She said it was the best she ever had. We also bought a kite! Definitly a must! We will be back again! I can't wait to bring the grandkids. Oh and the service was great! A very cheerful happy place!
