Immaculate Conception School is a parish coeducational institute that was founded in 1854. It serves more than 500 students in pre-kindergarten through grade eight. Its academic curriculum includes mathematics, reading, English, science, art, music, social and technology studies, and religious and physical education. The school also provides after-school day care programs. In addition, Immaculate Conception School hosts a variety of cocurricular activities, such as Christmas celebrations, musical shows, dance performances, science fairs, and math and reading enrichment events. It has book, chess, drama, garden and technology clubs. The school maintains a library that houses over 9,000 catalogued items, books, magazines and videos, as well as computers with Internet access and CD and DVD players. Immaculate Conception School is located in the Bronx, N.Y., and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
