The Bristol Police Department provides law enforcement and investigation services to the residents and businesses of Bristol, Conn. The department s patrol division consists of nearly 120 sworn officers. It is divided into nine zones and covered with consideration to special events, crime trends and statistics. The Bristol Police Department has walking beats, bike units and K-9 patrol. The department also maintains identifications and traffic divisions. Its duties include arson and burglary investigation, evidence processing, photography and videography, fingerprint analysis and drug destruction. The Bristol Police Department handles lost, stolen, confiscated and recovered property, as well as handgun permits and registrations.
