Established in 1955 as an elementary school, John Winthrop School offers classes from grades kindergarten through eight. It has an enrollment of more than 800 students and employs a staff of over 65 teachers. The school consists of a technology lab that offers more than 25 desktop computers with educational software and Internet access. It also offers a homework service that provides online assistance with science, social studies, math and English assignments. Located in Bridgeport, Conn., John Winthrop School is a part of the Bridgeport Public Schools that operates elementary, and high schools and interdistrict vocational aquaculture schools. The district s schools serve more than 21,000 students and employ over 1,700 teachers.
