I told my dentist that I was having severe jaw pain especially when I ate or opened my mouth wide. He told me to visit Dr. Urbanek. When i received the splint I did not think that it would help. After the first 6 weeks I noticed 50% of my pain was gone. I thought that I would still just have the little bit of pain left. Had I known how much better I would have felt after being treated for my TMJ symptoms, I would have seek treatment a lot sooner. It got so bad it hurt to open my ,mouth to sing in church and I love to sing, but it would hurt to open my jaw to wide. I couldn't open my mouth as wide as I needed to. I came to Dr. Urbanek because I had been involved in a physical altercation which resulted in my orbital socket being fractured in multiple places and left the left side of my face, the tip of my nose, the left side of my mouth and jaw numb and tingling.
