Twin Oaks is a lignite-fired power plant in Robertson County in Texas. It has a capacity of more than 300 megawatts. The plant uses circulating fluidized-bed combustion technology. Twin Oaks serves wholesale electricity customers in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas market. The plant maintains a staff of over 60 full-time employees. It also utilizes petroleum coke, natural gas, western coal and wood products. Twin Oaks is a part of Optim Energy, which is a holding company that owns and operates several power generating facilities in Texas. The parent company offers a range of energy marketing services, such as asset management, load forecasting, and supply procurement and consulting.
