Universal Bearings manufactures loose needle rollers and related products. The company has been in business since 1959. Universal Bearings was acquired by Hanwha Group in 1991, adding global representation and research and development facilities. Loose rollers are available in a range of lengths and diameters. Typically, 1055-C steel is used for dowel pin applications. Other materials are also available. Universal Bearings engineering department uses CAD, CAM and state-of-the-art software to determine product selection based on customer data. Standard material for rollers is SAE 52100 bearing quality chrome steel. Needle rollers are used in automotive transmissions, universal joints, front wheel drive constant velocity joints, water pump bearings, roller clutches, rollerized cam lifters, rocker arms, cam rollers, starter drives and as pins and dowels for various applications.
