The Public Works Department operates under the government of the town of Breckenridge in Colorado. The department is responsible for activities related to the planning, construction, maintenance and operation of infrastructural systems for the community. The Public Works Department operates through administration, engineering, facilities, fleet maintenance, transit, water, and streets and parks divisions. Its administration division performs various support functions, including budget, record management, customer service and contract negotiation. The department s fleet maintenance division is responsible for vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance services. The Public Works Department also performs duties related to snow and ice control, special event support, and public landscape and street light maintenance.
