Laurel Elementary School, founded in 1922, offers educational and extracurricular programs to more than 500 students in grades kindergarten through six. Its special day class serves students with learning disabilities, offering instruction by a full time resource specialist teacher and assistance from aides on full or partial day basis. The school also offers other support services, such as speech and language, adaptive physical education, occupational therapy and counseling. Its fine art program includes school choir, the art auction, music assemblies, and the fifth and sixth grade band program. Laurel Elementary School offers a wide variety of programs to the students, such as an after school homework club, morning enrichment, learning at lunch, appreciative listeners, laurel book club and capital readers. The school is located in Brea, Calif.
