The Manatee County Parks and Recreation Department is a part of the government of Manatee County in Florida. It is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the county s parks, golf courses, boat ramps, picnic shelters, tennis courts and beaches. The department provides a variety of leisure and recreational opportunities for county residents. The Manatee County Parks and Recreation Department operates an athletics division that offers basketball, volleyball, football and softball games. Its aquatic division provides swimming lessons for the individuals of all ages. The Manatee County Parks and Recreation Department also oversees the county s gymnasiums, amphitheaters, grills, racquetball courts, splash parks, and biking and hiking trails.
