- Primary CareA refraction is a critical diagnostic test that the physician uses to evaluate your vision, and without it, we are not able to fully assess the health and function of your eyes. It helps the doctor determine whether your vision is reduced by a medical disease (such as cataracts, macular degeneration, etc) or if it can simply be improved with glasses. Just like your primary care doctor uses bloodwork to make decisions about your treatment plan, a refraction is necessary to fully assess the health and function of your eyes. Refractions are NOT optional.
- Emergency CareIf you do inadvertently put the wrong liquid into your eyes, immediately rinse it with lots of plain water or saline solution. Also remember, The Eye Associates always have a doctor on call 24/7 who can advise you if immediate attention is needed. Call us at 1-866-865-2020. If something more toxic, such as drain cleaner, battery acid, ammonia-based cleaning products, drywall or concrete dust gets into your eyes, you should immediately rinse and then go to the emergency room nearest to you.

During that year of training, the surgeon performs many surgical procedures, often including the most difficult and complicated referral cases. With this advanced experience, the fellowship trained physician has gained excellent technical skills and also understands how to manage complications. It also enables him/her to determine whether a patient is a good surgical candidate in the first place. The following physicians at The Eye Associates are fellowship trained...
- Macular DegenerationAnother new concern is the amount of exposure to harmful blue light from LED lights, digital devices, TV screens, and computers. For your protection, ZEISS has developed DuraVision BlueProtect that offers protection from this harmful blue light. Blue light concerns range from the disruption of sleep patterns to retinal damage. The American Macular Degeneration Foundation warns that evidence suggests that long-term exposure to blue light may contribute to photochemical damage of the retina (known as “blue light hazard†). So your eyeglasses can do more than just help you to see. These new products can actually help with the health of your eyes.

- UltrasoundHave you been told that you’re not a candidate for LASIK? Thanks to a procedure called Clear Lens Replacement, there is another choice for you. Clear Lens Replacement, or CLR, is a surgical procedure designed to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses. Unlike LASIK that changes the shape of the cornea, CLR corrects your vision by removing the natural crystalline lens in the eye and replacing it with a new artificial lens implant, called a high tech IOL. This is much like what happens in Bladeless Laser Cataract Surgery. However, in cataract surgery the removed lens, called a cataract, is clouded, whereas in CLR, the removed lens is clear. State-of-the-art ultrasound instruments are used to measure your eye for the correct lens power, taking your lifestyle and desired activities into consideration. These custom measurements are entered into sophisticated formulas to calculate your personalized treatment.
