The Manatee County Community Services Department identifies, assembles and provides a range of resources and programs to young, disabled, elderly and economically disadvantaged individuals. Its children's services division offers a range of programs, such as before- and after-school care, substance abuse prevention, conflict resolution, reading enhancement, case management and transportation. The division also provides counseling programs in the areas of domestic violence, sexual perpetrating behaviors, foster care, divorce and runaway issues. The Manatee County Community Services Department s additional child specialized services include forensic interviews and physical examinations for sexual assault and child abuse victims; parent training and support groups; personal safety education; and teenage pregnancy prevention.
