Allow me introduce myself. My name is Rickey Geary. I am 51 years old and I now wear hearing aids.Until August 28,2010, I spent 45 years in a world of hearing that didn't exist for me. My hearing was tested in my elementary school years finding extreme hearing loss that only worsened over the next 45 years. While sitting at a stoplight in Louisville, Kentucky in April 2010, the love of my life asked me if I could hear those birds sing. I couldn't. That was my wake-up call. That's when I got the ball rolling. In a period of 2 weeks, my hearing was tested by 3 different audiologists. The first 2 audiologists said "show me the money.!!" The 3rd. audiologist was my charm.The 3rd. man walked every extra mile with me to insure that I finally had the quality of life that I deserved to have after all these years. He worked with an agency in my city that provided my hearing aids at no cost to me. I now hear everything. hat 3rd. man, my hero is Jeffrey A. Barefoot, M.S., CCC-A BOWLING GREEN, KY
