The Washington Savings Bank is a federally chartered and insured stock savings bank, organized in 1982 as a Maryland chartered, privately insured savings and loan association. It received federal insurance in 1985 and a federal savings bank charter in 1986. It is a member of the Federal Home Loan Bank system and its deposits are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The Washington Savings Bank has approximately five savings branches in Maryland. They are located in Bowie, Waldorf, Crofton, Millersville and Odenton. The bank offers personal checking accounts, savings accounts, individual retirement accounts, conventional loans, second trust loans, construction loans, bridge loans and savings loans. It has more than 10 mortgage loan origination offices. The Washington Savings Bank is headquartered in Bowie, Md.
