I just turned 27, I lost my best friend, mother of my child, fiance and love of my life on 5/24/17 to complications from a cancer she beat. She would've turned 27 on 6/3/17. Jim and the staff at Beall funeral homes were BY FAR the most AFFORDABLE option out of the 5+ funeral homes I had to drag myself to in the midst of a grief I had never before fathomed. Not only did they save us Thousands on the service, for what would've gotten us a "wood box" at the next most affordable option I was able to bury one of the most important women in my life in a Beautiful white casket with pink lining (she would've hated lol) and a rose gold finish she would've gone crazy for. I see in the other reviews that some people had issues with the services being Held at Beall. I cant speak on that as my fiance and I had been members of our church since teens and had all her services there. But Jim although not an overflowing with empathy type(think stoic father) truly let me know he could sense all I was going through, from helping with prayer cards and death certificates to even talking to me through her internment at Gate of Heaven. For those of you who want whats best for your loved ones and are already members of churches that will host your loved one's final arrangements Beall is BY FAR the best option and I mean by Thousands of dollars. Which is no small thing when you're dealing with a newly "widowed" single father to a 2 year old girl and families already mentally, physical and finical exhausted from aiding a loved one's fight with cancer.
Horrible...I wouldn't even give one star but I have to to write a review. They did not provide a "caring" service at all. My mother, Helen Prescop, died about 12 years ago and when I remember her service it was horrible. I have my cosmetology license and asked to do my mothers hair and nails as the last loving thing I could do for her. The gentleman was very nice and made a time for me to come and do her hair and nails. My sister came with me. We were there maybe 30 minutes when the old lady (family business I assume the mother) came in yelling at us to hurry up they have other people to attend to. Wow. So during my mothers service there were many visitors, the same old lady came in and told us we all had to leave, they had other services to preform....grrrrrr. So as we are leaving I am searching for my father who just lost his wife of 50 years. I am at the door of the room my mother is in, people are leaving, this same old lady is standing at the door making sure everyone is leaving. I see my father over the casket, kissing my Mommy's forehead. I go to enter the room to comfort him and this old woman GRABS my arm hard to stop me from going in the room. I snatched my arm back told to to get off of me I am going to my father and to back off!! When my daddy died the next year all 6 of us kids were I agreement to NOT go here. Seems they all had a bad experience too that day. We took my daddy to a wonderful place in Annapolis, let me do my Daddy's hair for as long as needed....never rushed us out at his service...provided music we requested...they were truly compassionate and understanding...unlike this horrible place when my mother died all they wanted was the money...no compassion at all! Now I am left to live that memory forever....
Thomas Zizos and his staff are fantastic. When suffering the stress of losing a loved one, you don't need any stresses in preparing the arrangements for viewings, obituaries, or funerals. Thomas and his staff are incomparable in making the process as stressless as possible.. Our service and funeral were wonderful, memorable, and the care they took made us feel like we were dealing with good friends or family who were helping us thru trying times. No high pressure sales, As inexpensive or as elaborate as we wanted it to be. Thomas, Mike, and Veronica (and whoever else was behind the scenes, like the videographer Jay Cleaver who contracts with them) were unbelievable in the care and thoughtfulness they showed. We really cannot say enough good things about the service and care they gave us!
