Rocky Mountain Institute, also known as RMI, is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1982. The organization works with a team of more than five full-time staff members. It works with corporations, governments, communities and citizens to help them solve problems, gain competitive advantage, increase profits and create wealth through the more productive use of resources. Rocky Mountain Institute provides advisory services in the areas of energy, buildings, water, communities, climate and transportation. The company works in the areas of household water efficiency, water efficiency policy and implementation, infrastructure and system planning, and watersheds, stormwater, and stream restoration. With a location in Boulder, Colo., it also maintains an additional office in Snowmass, Colo.
