Sharing their expertise, our attorneys publish scholarly articles and books, lecture, serve in leadership positions and provide assistance to needy individuals in the Metro Boston area and throughout our Commonwealth. In May 1994, three principal members of a Boston law firm decided to rely on their common goals and beliefs, combine their knowledge and experience, and branch out on their own. From that simple yet challenging decision, S&F came into being. Founded in June 1994 by Mary H. Schmidt, Phyllis E. Federico, and the late Richard D. Packenham, S&F has since almost tripled its legal work force and moved to an office in Boston 's historic Back Bay.
