- FillingsThe cost is moderate and depends on the size of the filling and the technique used by the dentist to place it in the prepared tooth. It generally takes longer to place a composite filling than what is required for an amalgam filling. Composite fillings require a cavity that can be kept clean and dry during filling and they are subject to stain and discoloration over time.
- Resin Composite“I began seeing Dr. Shah-Hosseini after my former dentist retired and sold his practice. I was uncertain about switching to a new dentist but I have to say I have been extremely pleased with Dr. Shah-Hosseini’s work. Her approach to preventative care, attention to detail and concern for the patient is exemplary. Dr. Shah-Hosseini has put in a couple new fillings and suggested replacement of old ones which was not only a health benefit but a cosmetic improvement as well (composite resin filings versus the old amalgam fillings). She was always careful and mindful of ensuring there was little discomfort and the procedures were pain free. When Dr. Shah-Hosseini noticed gum recession, something I had been concerned with for awhile but had not been giving any particular advice from previous dentists, she educated me on the potential longterm issues if I were to ignore the symptoms and recommended I seek further consultation from a Periodontist which I did and received the care I needed. Dr. Shah-Hosseini is very practical in her approach and educates you fully before moving forward with any procedure. I always feel she has my best interests in mind and would highly recommend Dr. Shah-Hosseini.”
- VeneersIn just two or three dental visits, a veneer can reverse years of stains caused by foods, caffeine and tobacco use.
- CrownsBridges are natural-looking dental appliances that can replace a section of missing teeth. Crowns are synthetic caps, usually made of a material like porcelain, placed on the top of a tooth.
- BridgesA crown is a protective covering that is bonded or cemented onto your tooth. It is custom made in a dental laboratory by highly qualified technicians using ceramics, noble alloys or a combination of both. A crown may be recommended for a tooth that has a large filling, a root canal or a fracture. A bridge is simply 3 or more crowns linked together. A bridge is recommended to replace a missing tooth or teeth. A bridge helps provide a continuous chewing surface, keeps teeth from drifting out of position, protects teeth and improve aesthetics. Crowns and bridges are quality restorations and are an excellent investment in your long-term dental health.
